Privacy policy

This is the privacy policy for Danger Science Limted and its group companies.

Our ICO registration number is ZA404035.

DSG deliberately tries to collect as little personally-identifiable information as possible. This policy outlines what information we collect, how it is collected, how we store it and when we delete or destroy it. If you have questions after reading this policy, please contact the Data Protection Officer.

In this policy, “DSG” represents all Danger Science Group companies, which include:

Cookies

This website uses cookies to count visitors and generate aggregated statistics. DSG does not use third parties to store these cookies — we use our own analytics solution, so your data will never leave our company. These cookies do not contain personally-identifiable information. Should you wish to, you may choose to prevent this website from aggregating and analysing the actions you take here by un-ticking the box below.

Other DSG websites will use different cookies and technologies, and each will allow you to choose whether to consent to such cookies being used (except where they are essential to the functioning of the website).

The data we collect

DSG companies collect customer and contractor information from the people we work with, which includes but is not limited to names, contact information, bank/financial details, and addresses. This means we can keep the records required to run our company day-to-day, and fulfil our legal duties.

DSG companies collect communication data from people who contact us via email or by any other method. We use this to reply to you, fulfil legal duties, and manage business operations.

DSG companies may collect survey data from people who respond to specific requests for information, either as opinion polling or for marketing. Each survey has a clear end date, after which the results will be aggregated and anonymised, and all personal data will be deleted.

DSG companies may collect data including customer and contractor information on behalf of other businesses using our products and services. Where this happens, the privacy policies of these businesses will apply, and these businesses may choose how DSG products and services retain this information.

DSG companies may collect marketing data from people or businesses who deliberately opt-in to newsletters and mailing lists, so we can provide those mailings to them. We never subscribe anyone to a mailing list without explicit, “double opt-in” consent. You can unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of every edition. (This won’t affect whether we contact you for other transactional or business purposes, like replying to messages you send.)

Third party data

DSG companies, employees or subcontractors may share information with partners or service providers to allow them to carry out actions on our behalf, and they may share information with us. We may use the tools that other platforms and partners provide to view aggregated statistics on visitors, and to make business decisions.

Partners include:

We also post and communicate on social media platforms including but not limited to Twitter and Facebook, which are governed by those companies’ terms and policies.

We will never sell your personal information.

We will never pass on personal information to organisations unconnected with our direct business operations except in extreme circumstances (for example emergencies, for personal safety, or for bona fide law enforcement requests).

How we protect your data

We make sure that thorough manual and automated controls are in place to keep personal information secure. However, you should not send confidential or sensitive data to us without first notifying us and negotiating terms of its use and reuse.

How long we keep your data

We keep data for as long as necessary for business purposes, and to comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Once personally-identifiable information is no longer needed for the above reasons, it is deleted (if digital) or securely destroyed (if on physical media).

Your rights of access, correction and deletion

You can request a copy of information any DSG company holds about you, to correct incorrect information, or to delete information about you that is no longer required. If you’d like to exercise these rights, please contact the Data Protection Officer with a description of the information. We will require proof of identity to a reasonable standard. There may be a small administrative charge if you require physical copies of data we hold about you.
